Connected Minerals has reported continued strong uranium results from its phase 2 drilling program at the Etango North-East project in Namibia.
The latest results highlight the potential of the Ondapanda Prospect, with 17 of the 23 holes returning economic uranium grades. The phase 2 program, which followed the successful Phase 1 drilling earlier this year, involved 23 Reverse Circulation holes for a total of 3134.
“The results from Phase 2 at Etango North-East continue to impress, with over 80 per cent of all holes drilled in phases 1 and 2 returning economic uranium grades,” Connected Minerals director and chief executive officer Warrick Clent said.
“What is of note from the Phase 2 results is the shallow nature of the higher grades reported, with a number of the holes, including 0038, 0035 and 0024, returning multiple high-grade significant intersections.”
Significant intercepts included three metres at 265 parts per million uranium oxide (U₃O₈) from 34m in hole OPRC0020, including 1m at 435 parts per million, and 6m at 295 parts per million from 42m, including two metres at 485 parts per million.
“Combining this with the continued presence of multiple, stacked and mineralised Alaskites, our view that Etango North-East’s geology follows the model of Bannerman’s world-class Etango uranium project is further enhanced,” Clent said.
“The grades in the central zone of the Ondapanda Prospect are impressive, and the more recent drilling in the western portion has outlined mineralisation that will require follow-up in future programmes.”
Results from Phase 1 and Phase 2 confirm that mineralisation at Etango North-East remains open at depth and along strike, providing strong prospects for further exploration. Connected Minerals is now planning the next stage of drilling and will update the market on developments in due course.
With a combined drilling success rate of over 80 per cent to date, Etango North-East continues to strengthen its position as a significant uranium exploration opportunity in Namibia.
