Drilling delivers high-grade gold hits at Weebo

Magmatic Resources has reported strong assay results from its maiden drilling campaign at the Weebo gold project in Western Australia’s Eastern Goldfields, highlighting strong potential for extensive shallow gold mineralisation across multiple prospects.

Air-core drilling confirmed a 5km mineralised structure containing several zones of shallow high-grade gold. Results from a single drill line at Ockerburry 3 returned standout intersections, including 12m at 5.13 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 66m, with 8m at 7.6g/t gold within that interval.

Other significant results included 8m at 1.41g/t gold from 50m, 12m at 3.2g/t gold from 49m, and 23m at 0.62g/t gold from 40m, including 9m at 0.72g/t gold from 66m.

The results have confirmed the potential of the Ockerburry mineralised fault to host substantial gold mineralisation, prompting plans for infill reverse circulation (RC) drilling to define the shallow extensions and deeper primary gold shoots.

Further encouraging results came from the nearby Scone Stone prospect, where a single line of slimline RC drilling intersected multiple high-grade mineralised structures hosted within an intrusive quartz–feldspar porphyry unit.

Follow-up RC drilling is planned for Ockerburry and Scone Stone in early November, alongside air-core testing of several regional secondary targets across the Weebo tenure.

Magmatic Resources managing director David Richardson said the company’s inaugural drilling program had exceeded expectations.

“It’s highly encouraging to see multiple thick, high-grade gold intersections on one drill line at Ockerburry,” he said. “We believe this augurs well for the remainder of this five-kilometre-long target. We’re now bringing in a larger RC rig to continue exploring the exciting Scone Stone target while also lining up secondary prospects for air-core testing.”

Strategically located between five multi-million-ounce gold operations – Darlot, Agnew–Lawlers, Bellevue, Bronzewing and Thunderbox – the Weebo gold project positions Magmatic Resources in one of Australia’s most prolific gold belts, offering significant potential for new discoveries.
