Connected echoing Bannerman’s advanced Etango project

Connected Minerals has successfully completed a maiden reverse circulation (RC) drilling campaign at its Etango North-East uranium project in Namibia.

The 15-hole, 2678m program targeted high-priority areas following high-grade rock-chip sampling results from December 2024.

Originally planned for 13 drill holes totalling 2600m, the program was extended by two holes after strong geological indications were observed near recently trenched areas.

The company said the additional holes aimed to follow up on findings from earlier drilling that returned geological similarities to Bannerman Energy’s neighbouring Etango uranium project.

Connected managing director and chief executive officer Warrick Clent said the completion of the maiden drilling campaign marked another important step for the company.

“Completing our maiden drilling program at Etango North-East is another achievement for Connected Minerals and continues our rapid progress in Namibia over the past six months,” he said.

“While drilling productivity was unfortunately slowed due to the Easter break and two further holidays in Namibia, we are pleased with how this initial drilling campaign advanced.

“The similarities we have identified with Bannerman Energy’s Etango uranium project are particularly encouraging and will warrant further investigation as we plan the next program at our Etango North-East project.”

Connected expects results from the Etango North-East program in the coming weeks, with a downhole gamma probe currently being used to measure mineralisation.

Rock-chip sampling from the project previously returned standout uranium grades, including 1m at 5413 parts per million (ppm) uranium oxide (U₃O₈), 2m at 2084ppm U₃O₈, and 1m at 4847ppm U₃O₈.

With drilling at Etango North-East now complete, contractor Hammerstein Drilling will mobilise to the Swakopmund project for a 23-hole, 450m RC drilling program.
