A quantum physicist, a Young Australian of the Year and an industry legend will be among speakers at the Global Resources Innovation Expo (GRX25), an international ‘by industry, for industry’ conference and exhibition, to be held in Brisbane from May 20–22.
An evolution of the highly successful and longstanding Austmine Conference, GRX25 is a strategic collaboration between leading peak bodies in the resources sector, Austmine and AusIMM.
The partnership is dedicated to bringing together global leaders, innovators and professionals in mining and the Mining Equipment, Technology and Services (METS) sectors to mobilise and accelerate a sustainable, technology-led future for the global resources industry.
GRX will become an annual gathering showcasing Australia’s leadership in technology with a key focus on exploring innovative solutions set to shape the future of the resources sector globally.
It is anticipated that 2000 delegates and 150 exhibitors will take part in the inaugural GRX25 program incorporating a plenary conference, trade show including a dedicated Innovation Zone, workshops, networking, awards and industry leaders’ dinner.
“GRX25 brings together an outstanding line-up of speakers and a program designed to inspire and challenge the way we think about the future of mining,” Austmine chief executive officer (CEO) Chris Gibbs Stewart said.
“From quantum computing to automation, sustainability, and beyond, we’re showcasing the ideas and innovations that will shape the sector in the years ahead.
“We’re thrilled to partner with AusIMM to deliver an event where industry leaders can connect, collaborate, and drive meaningful progress.”
Professionals from complementary sectors including space, defence, manufacturing, research, education, and government are also expected to attend.
Delegates from around the world will join the conversation led by expert speakers in keynote addresses, breakout sessions and panel discussions including:
- Geoff Pryde, chief technical director at PsiQuantum – a quantum physicist who has spent 25 years at the forefront of international research in quantum information science and technology.
- Marita Cheng, founder and CEO at Aubot and Robogals – Young Australian of the Year 2012 and an inspiring entrepreneur embracing emerging technologies, innovative practices and visionary leadership to drive forward the industry and empower women in technology fields.
- Owen Hegarty, OAM, co-founder and executive chairman at EMR Capital – with more than 50 years’ experience in the global mining industry as founder and managing director of Oxiana (now OZ Minerals) and 25 years at Rio Tinto.
Industry leaders will share their thought-provoking insights on transformation and a sustainable future in panel discussions.
GRX25 will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre from May 20–22.
