Iltani reveals key target at Orient East

Iltani Orient East

Iltani Resources said it is on-track to delivering a maiden mineral resource estimate at its Orient project, having identified a new exploration target at the Orient East deposit.

Mining One Consultants has independently estimated the Orient East exploration target to be between 25 and 35 million tonnes (Mt) at 77 to 95 grams per tonne (g/t) silver equivalent (AgEq) using a 30g/t AgEq cut-off grade.

Within this, a high-grade core has been identified, ranging from 12Mt to 18Mt at 110 to 130g/t AgEq, with even higher-grade zones of 3.5Mt to 4Mt at 280 to 340g/t AgEq and 1.1Mt to 1.4Mt at 430 to 520g/t AgEq.

With the inclusion of the Orient West deposit, the overall exploration target for the Orient project has now grown to between 99Mt and 135Mt at 61 to 73g/t AgEq, containing a high-grade core of 32Mt to 42Mt at 110 to 124g/t AgEq.

“Our Orient East exploration target is a very strong indication that the Orient deposit is Australia’s largest silver-indium-lead-zinc deposit and on-track to being a large silver deposit,” Iltani managing director Donald Garner said.

The Orient East exploration target has been estimated based on 35 reverse circulation holes drilled to date at the prospect.

The company plans to recommence drilling at the Orient project in March 2025, with a diamond drill rig to be mobilised in May.

The program will focus on completing the JORC inferred resource drill-out at Orient West and Orient East while continuing to explore the broader Orient system.

Additional work will target the area between Orient West and Orient East and investigate the potential for high-grade underground mineralisation.

“We believe that Orient West will also be able to add to this higher-grade mineralisation and are looking forward to seeing the results from the drilling planned to commence in March,” Garner said.

“These exploration activities will provide strong news flow for our shareholders and we look forward to keeping you updated on our progress.”
