Promising results have come out from the Hillgrove project in New South Wales, where Larvotto Resources has recently completed a reverse circulation (RC) drilling program.
At Clarks Gully, a 4469m RC drilling program has delivered significant high-grade gold-antimony mineralisation, extending the current 266,000 tonnes at 3.8 per cent antimony and two grams per tonne (g/t) gold (10.6g/t gold equivalent) mineral resource.
Some of the key intercepts from the RC campaign included 7m at 22.28g/t gold equivalent (AuEq), 7m at 9.34g/t AuEq, 6m at 6.28g/t AuEq and 6m at 15.5g/t AuEq.
“The drilling has confirmed the continuation of mineralisation down-dip into a previously under-explored zone which sits below and along strike from the current Clarks Gully open pit mine plan,” Larvotto managing director Ron Heeks said.
“The excellent results indicate another deeper round of drilling is required to confirm and extend the mineralisation beyond the current resource.”
Of the 54 holes drilled, assays for 14 are pending, with results expected in the coming weeks.
At Bakers Creek, diamond drilling has commenced, with visible gold identified in the first hole intersecting the Big Reef mineralised zone.
Earlier drilling at Bakers Creek produced a standout result of 31m at 65.8g/t gold from 244m.
“To see visible gold mineralisation exactly where it is targeted is a wonderful confirmation of the geological understanding of the area,” Heeks said.
“The Bakers Creek high-grade gold mineralisation is currently not included within the Hillgrove mineral resources or the previously announced Hillgrove exploration target – this demonstrates the potential for substantial additional resources to be added to the current 1.7 million ounces Hillgrove mineral resource.”
With assays pending and drilling ongoing, Larvotto Resources is optimistic about uncovering further high-grade mineralisation at both sites, supporting the potential for resource expansion and future mine development.
