Iltani unearths high-grade antimony

Iltani Resources has announced promising assay results from its Antimony Reward project in Herberton, north Queensland, showcasing high-grade antimony mineralisation.

The company completed assays for eight drill holes (ARRC001 to ARRC008) as part of its exploration efforts to evaluate the north vein system. Its key findings include:

  • ARRC001: 7m at 7.61 per cent antimony (Sb) from 38m, including 3m at 8.19 per cent Sb and 1m at 26.70 per cent Sb from 43m
  • ARRC003: 3m at 0.75 per cent Sb from 31m, with 1m at 1.25 per cent Sb, and 4m at 0.43 per cent Sb, including 1m at 1.28 per cent Sb from 42m
  • ARRC004: 9m at 0.94 per cent Sb from 53m, with 2m at 2.66 per cent Sb from 60m.

“It is good to see that our initial drilling at Antimony Reward has confirmed the presence of high-grade antimony mineralisation following on from Kangaroo Metals’ previous drilling in 2008,” Iltani managing director Donald Garner said.

“The geology is proving to be more complex with a structural control that needs to be interpreted prior to the next phase of drilling.”

Antimony at the site is present as stibnite (Sb2S3), with mineralisation encountered in seven out of eight holes.

Delays in processing the remaining assays (ARRC0009, ARRC0017, ARRC0018, and seven additional holes on the south vein) have been attributed to a surge in sample submissions.

“Assay results are coming back later than anticipated, as processing times at the assay lab have extended to 4 to 6 weeks due to an influx of samples from companies undertaking work prior to the upcoming wet season in northern Australia,” said Garner.

“Once we have the final assay results back from the remaining holes at Antimony Reward, we can plan the next phases of exploration,” Garner added.
