Larvotto Resources is following up high-grade hits at its Bakers Creek prospect with a renewed drilling program at its Hillgrove gold-antimony project.
Drilling will start at Garibaldi and be followed by a drill campaign at Bakers Creek, with drilling to continue for the foreseeable future.
“Planned drill programs will follow up on the significant drilling successes from earlier this year,” Larvotto managing director Ron Heeks said.
“The drilling at Garibaldi is targeting the infill and extension of the existing JORC 2012 resource estimate of 2.346 million tonnes at 6.6g/t AuEq (gold-equivalent) by focusing on high-grade gold-antimony mineralisation.
“The Bakers Creek drilling is particularly interesting with several distinct mineralised zones identified and targeted in this drilling program. Just one of these zones produced the remarkable drill result from BKC015 which returned 31m at 65.8g/t Au from 244m.”
Garibaldi drilling will look to infill previous drilling conducted beneath the Garibaldi pit, which was historically mined for antimony.
Phase 1 drilling at Garibaldi will include six holes for 1900m, with the hope of upgrading the mineral resource estimate. Phase 2 drilling at Garibaldi will involve an additional 14 drill holes for 5490m.
Drilling at Bakers Creek will target the Little Reef structure, one of several distinct mineralised zones at the prospect.
Alongside the 31m at 65g/t AuEq hit from May, Bakers Creek also returned 3.5m at 9.55g/t AuEq and 13.1m at 3.61g/t AuEq earlier this year.
“We are very optimistic that these extraordinary results (31m at 65g/t AuEq) can be replicated from any of these seven mineralised zones,” Heeks said.
“These targets are the first of many near mine drilling targets Larvotto will be exploring to increase the overall mineral resources within the Hillgrove mineral field.”
