True North Copper has reported promising results from an ongoing geophysical survey at the Vero and Camp Gossans prospects, part of the company’s Mt Oxide project in Queensland.
The survey, which was supported by a $300,000 Queensland Government Collaborative Exploration Initiative (CEI) grant, revealed several unexplored geophysical anomalies, indicating significant growth potential for the project.
The company completed two MIMDAS induced polarisation (IP) and magnetotelluric (MT) survey lines, highlighting key targets at both prospects.
“Our exploration efforts at Mt Oxide are yielding great results,” True North managing director Bevan Jones said.
“The recent survey … has yielded anomalies that closely match our existing Vero copper, silver, and cobalt resources, providing us confidence to use this method to identify new targets across the area.”
At Vero, the results found a strong correlation between existing mineralisation and MIMDAS chargeability highs, reinforcing the reliability of this technique in identifying targets throughout the district.
A newly discovered 275m-wide and 350m-deep chargeability anomaly, located 1km east of Vero, could indicate an extension of the known mineralised zone.
Strong developments have also emerged from the Camp Gossans prospect with the survey revealing two chargeability responses less than 100m beneath the outcropping geochemically anomalous Alpha and Beta Gossan targets.
A new target Black Marlin, which was identified 250m northwest of Camp Gossans, is located beneath a previously unmapped 400m-long fault breccia.
“Exciting new drilling targets have been identified at both Camp Gossans and Vero, and we’ve also uncovered potential mineralised structures like Black Marlin,” Jones said.
“The deep-seeking MT survey at Vero has found an anomaly that suggests the main mineralised zone could extend more than one kilometre deeper than our current drilling.”
The geographic survey continues north along strike of Vero at Ivena North, Aquila, and Mt Gordon, focusing on testing additional copper targets.
True North plans to integrate these geophysical results with ongoing mapping and surface geochemical sampling campaigns to prioritise future drill targets.
