The Cloncurry Shire Council’s Meeting of the Mines conference is returning in September 2024 with the expectation of more keynote presentations, more delegates and more quality connections.
Confirmed speakers already include Omnia Company director Neville Power, AIC Mines chief executive officer (CEO) Aaron Colleran, Incitec Pivot’s Dan Kelleher and Dan White, Coexistence Queensland CEO Warwick Squire, and CopperString project director at Powerlink Queensland, Thomas Dockray.
Now also confirmed is renowned celebrity chef, Miguel Maestre, who will be returning to Cloncurry to host the Meeting of the Mines gala dinner.
Cloncurry Shire Council mayor Greg Campbell said this year’s event will build on the success of the inaugural Meeting of the Mines in 2023, which was named Regional Event of the Year by the peak body representing Australian event planners.
“Last year’s inaugural conference featured a stellar lineup of speakers, key discussions on unlocking the region’s potential, informative panels, and conversations with industry leaders,” Campbell said.
“We are confident we have an even stronger line-up of speakers this year and expect that Meeting of the Mines 2024 will deliver practical benefits for the mining sector and our region.”
Meeting of the Mines was created by Cloncurry Shire Council with the aim of tackling the challenges and opportunities facing future mining projects in the region.
Meeting of the Mines 2024 will be held in Cloncurry from September 11–13.
