An emerging lithium district in WA

Flynn Gold has identified a large, high-priority lithium target at its Lake Johnston lithium project in WA.

The anomaly was uncovered from first-pass soil sampling completed in late 2023, with assay results identifying a large-scale lithium anomaly spanning 4km x 1km.

Twenty-three samples returned assay results over 100 parts per million (ppm) lithium oxide. The anomaly remains open to the south and covering lithologies considered favourable to host pegmatites.

“We are very pleased to report outstanding assay results from our first soil program at Lake Johnston, which is rapidly emerging as WA’s newest lithium hotspot,” Flynn Gold managing director and chief executive officer Neil Marston said.

“Flynn has outlined a 4km-long strong lithium soil anomaly, along strike from the recent high-grade lithium discoveries at the nearby Burmeister, Jaegermeister and Mount Gordon prospects.

“This anomaly extends to the limit of the sampled area and has potential to be extended to the south by further sampling.”

Flynn Gold’s exploration licences at Lake Johnston were first granted in July 2023. During an initial reconnaissance field trip, three previously unmapped pegmatite outcrops were identified within exploration licence E63/2190.

The Lake Johnston discovery comes after Flynn Gold identified six large-scale lithium anomalies at its Parker Dome project, located 50km north of the Mount Holland lithium mine in WA.

A soil sampling program identified lithium anomalies that extend up to 2300m in length and 900m in width, with values of up to 187ppm lithium oxide.

“We are very pleased with the results of the first soil program at Parker Dome, which delineated a series of strong kilometre-long lithium soil anomalies in areas not yet drill tested for lithium, highlighting the exciting lithium potential of the project,” Marston said.

“The consistency and coherency of the lithium values within these large-scale anomalies is impressive.”
