Luke Reinehr, who co-founded Kalamazoo and has been chief executive officer (CEO) since 2019, will vacate the role. Reinehr will instead continue as Kalamazoo’s executive chair, as well as non-executive chair of the company’s new lithium spin out Kali Metals.

Luke Mortimer will replace Reinehr as Kalamazoo’s CEO. Mortimer also joined Kalamazoo in 2019 as the company’s exploration manager.

“With the recent successful spin out of our lithium assets into Kali, our focus with Kalamazoo is on advancing its gold exploration projects in Western Australia and Victoria, as well as pursuing new opportunities, and this is where we consider Luke will play a leading role,” Reinehr said.

Wildcat Resources non-executive director Alex Hewlett has resigned after four-and-a-half years at the company.

Hewlett’s departure coincides with the previously announced appointments of Ajanth (AJ) Saverimutto moving from non-executive director to managing director and Samuel Ekins moving from managing director to technical director.

Tim Manners will also commence as Wildcat’s chief financial officer at the end of the month.

Melanie Naidoo-Vermaak has been appointed as Sibanye-Stillwater’s new chief sustainability officer.

Naidoo-Vermaak will bring over 20 years’ experience with her, having worked in both the private and public mining sectors in South Africa and across the globe.

“Sustainability/ESG (environmental, social and governance) is a strategic imperative for the group and we look forward to Melanie making a positive contribution in our journey to be a force for good,” Sibanye-Stillwater chief executive officer Neal Froneman said.
