Fortescue Metals chief financial officer Christine Morris announced her resignation this morning. Her departure marks the 10th senior executive departure from the company within three years.
It follows the resignation of chief executive officer Fiona Hick, announced on Monday, after holding her position for only six months.
Former CSIRO chief executive Larry Marshall will join Fortescue as a non-executive director. Marshall, who has a strong background in science, will help Fortescue integrate its green hydrogen aspirations to decarbonise its operations.

AngloGold Ashanti has appointed Richard Jordinson as its new chief operating officer.
Jordinson first joined the company in 2012 and has been responsible for a number of management roles.
“Richard brings 38 years of industry experience to this role, earned across the gold, iron ore, nickel, zinc and lead mining sectors,” AngloGold Ashanti said.
“He has with AngloGold Ashanti a proven track record of adding value to the portfolios he has helped lead by bringing new operations into production on time and on budget and overseeing complex transitions to underground mining.”

Themba Nkosi will now serve as Sibanye Stillwater’s chief organisational growth officer, replacing Dawie Mostert. In the interim, Nkosi will retain his existing responsibilities as chief sustainability officer until a successor has been appointed.
Kevin Robertson will replace Wayne Robinson as executive vice president of the company’s platinum gold metals operations in the US.
Sibanye chief technical and innovation officer Robert van Niekerk has also assumed responsibility for the Australian region and will oversee the ongoing integration of the New Century tailings reprocessing operations and the feasibility study of Mount Lyell.
