Assays received for a reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at Falcon Metals’ Viking gold project have intersected high grade gold in multiple holes.
The first reverse circulation drilling program comprised 10 holes for 1691m at the company’s Western Australian Viking gold project, located 30km south-east of Norseman.
Results include:
- 6m at 1.02g/t gold from 93m
- 3m at 6.07g/t gold from 43m
- 4m at 1.87g/t gold from 124m.
Falcon Metals managing director Tim Markwell praised the excellent results, saying they gave the company strong encouragement to ramp up activity at Viking.
“With the confirmation of both high-grade primary mineralisation at depth and continuity of the mineralised shear zones along strike, we have decided to commence a diamond drilling program in the coming weeks,” he said.
“This will improve our understanding of the potential scale of the mineralised shears, and the controls relating to the higher-grade zones within the shears.”
The diamond drilling program is set to commence in December, to further test the extent of the mineralised structures at Viking.
Drilling testing for primary mineralisation found high-grade results intersected in multiple holes, with grades up to 28.5g/t in shallow dipping mineralised shear zones up to 6m wide.
The drilling also indicated a potential new target zone to the north-east, where deeper cover precluded effective testing by previous exploration.
“Norseman is an increasingly exciting region for mineral exploration and Falcon is pleased with the emergence of Viking as a project of significance,” Markwell said.
“We look forward to keeping shareholders and the wider market updated as we progress.”
