Miriam Stanborough has joined BCI Minerals as a non-executive director, accompanying her roles as non-executive director of Pilbara Minerals and chair of the Minerals Research Institute of Western Australia (MRIWA).
As a chemical engineer with more than 20 years’ experience working across various commodities including copper, lithium, uranium, gold, silver and alumina, Stanborough has previously held senior roles at Monadelphous, Iluka Resources, Alcoa and WMC Resources.
BCI chair Brian O’Donnell said Stanborough would be an important asset to the company.
“We are pleased to welcome Miriam as a valuable addition to the board of BCI during this exciting and challenging phase of development of the Mardie project,” he said. “Miriam brings a broad range of skills and experience to BCI’s business, which will increase the board’s ability to provide effective strategy and decision-making.”

Rimfire Pacific Mining has appointed David Hutton as chief executive officer and managing director. Hutton was originally appointed as a non-executive director in October 2021, during which time he worked in a part-time capacity and supported Rimfire during a period of management transition.
With more than 30 years’ experience in mining and exploration industries, Hutton has been involved with the discovery and/or definition of numerous precious and base metal deposits.
Hutton has spent 19 years in senior operational roles, while also serving as chief executive officer and managing director of mineral exploration companies Breakaway Resources and Mithril Resources for a combined 11 years.
Rimfire is currently focused on developing its projects in the Lachlan Orogen and Broken Hill district of NSW, which are considered prospective for critical minerals such as platinum group elements, nickel, copper and cobalt.

KGL Resources has appointed Ian Williams as an independent non-executive director. Williams has been involved in all aspects of the Australian mining industry, including government legislative and regulatory frameworks, project tenements and approvals, commercial contracts and more.
Williams is non-executive director and chair of the audit and risk committee at New Hope Corporation and chair of transport and rural services company Lindsay Australia, while he has also been a corporate partner of international law firms Herbert Smith Freehills and Ashurst.
“Williams has significant Australian board and corporate governance experience (including as chair of risk and audit and remuneration committees) and as a commercial lawyer with 30 years’ experience in the energy and resources sectors. He will be a valuable addition to the Board of directors,” KGL chair Denis Wood said.

R3D Resources has welcomed Jihad Malaeb as a non-executive director. Malaeb is an experienced entrepreneur across a number of industries and has significant experience in mineral exploration and mining operations.
Currently owning and operating a portfolio of hospitality businesses and real estate across Australia, Malaeb is also a non-executive director of Critical Resources, where he has been particularly influential as a board member and one of its largest shareholders.
R3D said Malaeb’s entrepreneurial skills would be a particular asset to the company as it develops its copper-gold projects in the Chillagoe region of far north Queensland.
