Liontown confirms growth potential of Buldania

Liontown

Liontown Resources continues to expand its Buldania lithium project in Western Australia following a host of positive drilling results at the Anna deposit and Northwest prospect.

Comprising 42 reverse circulation (RC) drill holes for a total of 6338m, the drill program had several objectives, including identifying regional geochemical/geological targets at Northwest and seeking shallow extensions at Anna.

Liontown achieved its objective at Anna, with drilling defining shallow lithium mineralisation immediately east and outside of the current Anna mineral resource estimate (15 million tonnes at one per cent lithium oxide [Li2O]).

The new zone extended over a strike length of approximately 150m and 300m down-dip. Better drilling results included 3m at 1.1 per cent Li2O from 36m and 21m at 0.5 per cent Li2O from 8m, including 1m at 2 per cent Li2O from 13m.

Liontown also hit 17m at 1.1 per cent Li2O from 18m at the BDRC0193 drill hole, including 7m at 1.4 per cent Li2O from 19m and 2m at 1.9 per cent Li2O from 30m.

The ASX 200 company achieved lithium hits over a strike length of 800m at the Northwest prospect, with mineralisation open in all directions.

Better intersections included 5m at 1.3 per cent Li2O from 32m, 10m at 1.1 per cent Li2O from 48m, and 6m at 0.8 per cent Li2O from 12m.

“The recent drilling results demonstrates the potential for Liontown to continue to grow its 100%-owned, Western Australian-based lithium resource base, which includes the world-class Kathleen Valley lithium project,” Liontown managing director and chief executive officer Tony Ottaviano said.

“The expanding Northwest prospect presents an exciting opportunity for further follow-up exploration and, along with the potential for incremental extension of the Anna deposit, ensures that Buldania continues to emerge as an attractive asset.”

Liontown continues to advance Kathleen Valley after securing landmark offtake deals with Tesla and LG Energy Solution earlier in the year.

In two agreements, Liontown has sealed up 60 per cent of its initial spodumene production capacity at the project.
